Westport, CT (July 16, 2019) – On July 15, just after 8:20 a.m., emergency crews from Westport responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Cross Highway and Bayberry Lane.
Reports from the incident show that two vehicles collided along the roadway for unknown reasons. One of the vehicles involved sustained heavy damage, causing the occupant of the vehicle to be trapped inside.
The Westport Fire Department worked to stabilize the vehicle and used a hydraulic rescue tool to gain access to the individual before freeing them.
Two persons involved in the collision were injured and transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
