Vernon, CT (June 28, 2019) – On June 27, during the evening hours, police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Route 83.

Reports from police indicate that a motorcycle and another vehicle collided along the roadway shortly before 8:00 p.m. near the intersection with Merline Road.

A man on the motorcycle was injured in the collision and transported to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. A female occupant of the motorcycle was seriously injured and transported via LifeStar helicopter to a Hartford hospital. Both victims reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries for which they are receiving medical attention.

Crews from the Vernon Police and Fire Department are actively investigating the incident to determine the cause.
