Two Pedestrians Injured in Car Crash

Simsbury, CT (November 6, 2019) -  Police and Lifestar were called to the scene of an accident including two pedestrians.

Svenja Volpe, 28, and Nicholas Volpe, 27, were crossing the street on a crosswalk when they were suddenly struck by an oncoming car. The accident happened in front of the town office buildings of Simsbury near Hopmeadow Street at around 6:20 in the afternoon. The driver of the vehicle involved was identified as Stephen Sanady, 64. All three people are from Simsbury.

Lifestar was called to help the two pedestrians when their injuries proved to be serious. Both of them were alert at the time of emergency personnel's arrival. Nicholas Volpe was airlifted to Hartford Hospital and Svenja Volpe was taken to Saint Francis Hospital via ambulance. Police have said that Nicholas Volpe's injuries were more severe. 

The investigation is ongoing and we wish the victims a speedy recovery.
