Trumbell, CT (May 7, 2019) – On Friday, May 3, police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a collision on Daniels Road.
Around 7 p.m., 54-year-old Eric Gabrielson was traveling south along Daniels Farm Road in a Toyota pickup truck when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes.
In entering the northbound lanes of Daniels Farm Road, near Strobel Road, Gabrielson's vehicle struck a Volkswagen Jetta head-on.
The impact of the collision caused the Volkswagen to spin around before coming to rest in a yard along the roadway. Gabrielson's truck came to rest next to a home, trapping him inside the vehicle. Gabrielson was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen was injured in the collision and transported to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured driver.
Our warmest condolences go out to the family of Eric Gabrielson at this time.
