Stratford, CT (June 14, 2019) – On June 11, police began a police pursuit after a vehicle ran a red light on Main Street, at its intersection with Broadbridge Avenue.

According to reports, the driver of the vehicle refused to pull over and began to speed off down the roadway. As the 2003 Honda Civic turned onto Bruce Avenue from Stratford Avenue, it struck a vehicle occupied by two on-duty police detectives.

The driver of the vehicle continued to run until they pulled over on West Avenue. The driver then fled on foot. The three occupants of the vehicle were apprehended shortly after and charged with an array of charges related to the incident and stolen vehicle charges.

The two officers were injured in the collision and transported to Bridgeport Hospital for neck and back injuries.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured officers and their families at this time.
