Stratford, CT - Mini-Van Collision On Main St. Ends In Multiple Serious Injuries

Stratford, CT (July 20, 2019)The Stratford Police have reported that a serious car crash, which occurred around 12:12 p.m. on Saturday, sent over a dozen people to the hospital. The crash occurred between two mini-vans near the Putney section of Stratford, on Main Street. 

The accident caused a road closure that lasted for many hours. According to sources, by the evening the crash was cleared. The actual number of injuries has not been confirmed but it is believed that there are approximately 12-14 individuals harmed by the crash, all of whom were sent to the hospital.

Three individuals needed to be extricated by the fire department. Additionally, it has been reported that one firefighter was sent to the hospital for heat-related illness.

The injured parties were a mix of both adults and children. Most of the injuries were reported to be severe, according to authorities.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
