Sprague, CT (July 13, 2019) – On July 13, Sprague police rushed to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on State Highway 97 at the intersection with Salt Lake Road.

Police reports state that at 8:35 p.m., a pickup truck had stopped at a stop sign of the intersection between Route 97 and Salt Rock Road. The truck collided with an oncoming dirt bike after turning south onto Route 97. The dirt bike had been going north and the rider was uninsured with no registration.

The bike rider was pushed up the hood of the truck after the font of the bike impacted the driver's side of the truck. This caused the bike rider to be fully ejected from the dirt bike.

The bike rider was found with serious injuries, and after being taken to Backus Hospital in Norwich, he was later pronounced dead.

The crash is still under investigation.
