New Haven, CT (August 28, 2019) – On August 23rd, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near the corner of Grand Avenue and Blatchley Avenue.
According to reports from police, just after 11 p.m., a vehicle was passing through the intersection when it went off the road and crashed into a building.
As the vehicle approached the building, it struck two pedestrians in the path and pinned them both to the building.
The two pedestrians, who were identified as 42-year-old Carlos Kercado and 31-year-old Emmanuel Torres, were both transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.
Authorities report that both pedestrians succumbed to their injuries.
One passenger and the driver of the vehicle were both injured in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
