Posted by Connecticut Accident News | Jun 29, 2019 | 0 Comments

Middletown, CT (June 29, 2019)Police have reported that a double-rollover crash at the Arrigoni Bridge occurred on Friday evening after 10:00 p.m. The crash shut down traffic that was entering the bridge from the Portland side. Authorities investigated the accident and helped clear the wreck and debris from the closed road. Eventually, it was reopened during the night.

A 2002 Toyota Avalon driven by Christina Furtado, 33, of Portland, was heading west on Hartford Avenue. During a right turn attempt onto Main Street, the Toyota crossed the median and struck a 2015 Mercedes Benz. The Mercedes was operated by Andreas Bisbikos, 34, of Colchester.

The result of the crash was that the Mercedes Benz rolled over and landed on its roof, while the Toyota rolled over onto its left side. Police and the Middletown Fire Department were on the scene and had to extricate Furtado from her vehicle. She was taken to St. Francis Hosptial in Hartford and sources are saying she is in stable condition.

Bisbikos was transported to Middlesex Hospital and has since been discharged. He sustained minor injuries. The complete details fo the accident is still under investigation and police are urging witnesses with anything further to offer call Officer Passacantando at 860-638-4063.
