Middletown, CT - Hit-And-Run Injures 14-Yr Old Male Bicyclist At E. Main St. & Elm St.

Middletown, CT (July 20, 2019)According to the Middletown Police Department, a teenager riding a bicycle was hit by a car on Friday at approximately 6:15 p.m. The hit-and-run occurred at the intersection of East Main Street and Elm Street.

The victim was a 14-year old boy who was traveling south on Elm Street, and when he entered the intersection, he crashed with a car that was headed north. According to witnesses, the car left the scene right after impact.

The young boy was transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford and treated for his injuries. According to the police, the teen is currently in stable condition.

The car is believed to be a red or maroon colored Chevrolet Silverado four-door crew cab pickup truck. The driver is said to be a white male who also had a female white passenger with him at the time of the accident.

The crash is still under investigation and any witnesses with information are asked to contact Officer Passacantando at 860-638-4063.
