Manchester, CT- One Injured after Crash Btwn. Car & Moped at Spruce St. & Maple St.

Manchester, CT (May 19, 2019) -   Police are confirming a crash between a motor vehicle and a moped occurred on Saturday evening.  The crash resulted in the injury of the moped driver.

The Manchester Police were dispatched to the scene of the accident which happened around 8:55 p.m.  The incident occurred at the intersection of Spruce Street and Maple Street.

According to witness accounts, the moped struck the vehicle.  It then swerved off course and smashed into a building.

When the police arrived the driver of the moped was on the ground near the building it struck.  The driver suffered serious injuries and was unconscious.

Crews transported the driver of the moped to St. Francis Hospital where the victim is said to have been treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The police are investigating this accident and have indicated that the driver of the motor vehicle is not a suspect at this time.
