Hartford, CT – Man Killed in Scooter Crash Identified by Police

Hartford, CT (July 4, 2019) – Hartford Police have released the identity of the man who was tragically killed in an accident involving a truck and a scooter. 42-year-old Wilson Matos, the operator of the scooter, sadly died at the hospital due to the injuries he suffered in the collision. 

According to police, the crash occurred on New Britain Avenue, near Julius Street; luckily, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Authorities stated that the driver of a pickup truck turned south from New Britain Avenue onto Julius Street when they struck Matos. The victim was heading east along New Britain Avenue on his scooter. 

Officials stated that New Britain Avenue was closed down between Broad Street and Washington Street as the investigation started. Emergency crews transported Matos to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
