Fairfield, CT (July 11, 2019) – On July 11, just after 7:00 p.m., police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a drowning incident at the Benson Marina, which is located off Grover Avenue.

According to reports, the Bridgeport Fire Department had boat operations in the water attempting to locate a drowning victim.

The victim, who was reported to be a child, was recovered from the water. Crews performed CPR on the child as they were transported to an area hospital.

At this time, we are unsure of the condition of the child.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and their family at this time.
