East Hartford, CT – Two Killed In Crash On Interstate 84

East Hartford, CT (June 3, 2019) – On June 3, just after 5 a.m., police and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 84.

The incident occurred along the westbound lanes in East Hartford, between exit 54 and exit 51. According to police, four vehicles collided along the roadway, including three semi-trucks and school bus.

Reports from the incident show that two of the tractor trailers and the school bus involved in the collision caught on fire. Flames from the incident were able to be seen on the Department of Transportation cameras covering the highway. The rear-end of the third semi caught on fire, but the driver was able to detach it before it spread.

Unfortunately, two drivers involved in this accident sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident. The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time.
