East Haddam, CT (June 22, 2019) -   Sources indicate that a crash between a car and a propane truck occurred on Friday afternoon, June 21, causing the truck to overturn.  The crash caused Route 82 between Clark Hill Road and Old Town Road to close.

East Haddam First Selectman Emmett Lyman was called to the scene and reported that both the driver of the truck, as well as the driver of the car, were transported to the hospital with injuries. At this time the severity of the injuries has not been reported.

State Police from Troop K in Colchester, as well as the East Haddam Fire Department, were assessing the damages and blocking off the road.  There were no evacuations.  They were assisted by Colchester, Salem, and Lym Fire Departments.

Connecticut Truck Accidents

East Haddam, CT-Two Transported To Hospital After Collision on Rt. 82

2017 had 4,889 truck and buses involved in crashes that had fatal results.  These accidents rose approximately 9% from the previous year. When larger vehicles like trucks are involved in accidents, the force and impact are substantially increased, many times resulting in more severe injuries and even death.  Trucks have a higher tendency to roll over on the road for many reasons. One most common reason is that their immense momentum can cause shifts to one side while taking turns which could throw the vehicle off balance.

Due to the increased force, momentum, and weight of larger vehicles the intensity of injuries sustained can be much more severe.  If you have been involved in an accident with a truck and sustained injuries it is important that after you receive medical help you then speak with an experienced Connecticut truck accident attorney at the Law Offices of Paul Levin.  Costs associated with medical treatment, property loss, and emotional distress can all add up fast, you need representation that will help you obtain your rightful compensation.  Our team of a resourceful trucking accident and personal injury lawyers know what to do to obtain full compensation for you.  Don't wait to speak with one of our resourceful Connecticut personal injury attorneys today at 860-322-5302.
