Drunk Driver Plowed into Glastonbury Restaurant

Posted by Connecticut Accident News | Dec 13, 2019 | 0 Comments

Glastonbury, CT (December 8, 2019) - A man crashed into the Glastonbury restaurant Two Hopewell Bistro and Tavern, completely destroying a portion of the building

33-year-old Seth Peckham of Manchester was driving under the influence when he drove into the restaurant. His vehicle was so lodged in the building that his car was off the ground. Most of the car was inside the building rather than out.

Glastonbury's Fire Department responded to the accident and reported that no one was injured, although staffers were inside the restaurant at the time of the crash.

Mr. Peckham has been charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive upon right. He posted a 2500 dollar bond and is set to appear in court December 23rd.

The Two Hopewell Bistro and Tavern, located on 2 Hopewell Road in Glastonbury, has since opened back up for business. It was closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for repairs, but opened back up Tuesday.

Wallingford, CT- Bicyclist Dies From Being Struck By A Drunk Driver

In 2014, Saturday proved to be the second highest day of the week for crashes that resulted in fatalities.  Of all the crashes that year, about 18% of those occurring on Saturday resulted in death while approximately 14% that occurred on Saturday resulted in injuries according to the Connecticut Departement of Transportation.

It is an absolute travesty and tragedy for an innocent bicyclist to be fatally hit by a reckless motor vehicle.  Any life unnecessarily cut short by negligence is a misfortune. The families of the victims should be able to focus on mourning and healing, not on how to retain their rightful compensation for the wrongful death of their loved one. This is why enlisting the help of an experienced wrongful death attorney in Connecticut is so important and necessary. No family should have to cope with sudden death and have the burden of dealing with the legal aspect of compensation alone. The Law Offices of Paul Levin have experience fighting for those who have been victimized by drunk drivers.
