Derby, CT (June 3, 2019) – Just after 3 a.m. on June 3, firefighters and emergency crews responded to the scene of a house fire at 42 Hawkins Street.
According to reports, a fire broke out on the second floor of the building. All of the occupants of the location were able to evacuate safely and without any injuries. Unfortunately, one firefighter working at the scene sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation by the Derby Fire Marshall's office at this time.
