Darien, CT – 14-Year-Old Boy Injured In Bike Crash On Old Kings Highway

Darien, CT (July 12, 2019) – On July 11, Darien Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Old Kings Highway South.

Reports from Darien Police Department state that around 8:50 a.m., a 14-year-old boy was bicycling down Old Kings Highway South toward Hill Road when he crossed over from the west side of the street toward the east side. As the bicyclist approached the intersection of Locust Hill Road, he was struck by a westbound motor vehicle.

The vehicle collided with the rear tire of the bicycle, causing him to be ejected. The motorist then continued north along the roadway.

The boy suffered a broken bone and various other injuries in the collision and was transported to Stamford Hospital.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
