Cromwell, CT (August 14, 2019) – On August 13, emergency crews responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident on Interstate 91.
Reports from police indicate that a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck collided along the southbound side of the interstate, near Exit 21.
The impact of the collision resulted in extensive damage to the pickup truck. Reports indicate that the impact of the collision sent the traffic trailer over the ravine between the northbound and southbound lanes, trapping the driver inside.
Crews spent an extended period working to extricate the injured victim trapped inside the truck.
LifeStar helicopter was requested and transported an injured victim to an area hospital for treatment.
At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
