Colchester, CT (July 17, 2019) – On Tuesday, July 16, emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Middletown Road near the intersection for Bulkeley Road.
Reports from the scene indicate that a truck, driven by 60-year-old John Moore, and a motorcycle, driven by 19-year-old Joseph Bialczak, collided along the roadway at approximately 9:20 p.m.
An investigation into the crash showed that Bialczak was riding on a 2018 Yamaha MT-07 motorcycle when the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 driven by Moore turned left into the lane. The motorcycle struck the driver's side door of the truck. Bialczak was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
A further investigation is needed to determine the at-fault party in the incident.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Joseph Bialczak at this time.
