Canterbury, CT (July 30, 2019) – On July 26, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Connecticut State Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on South Canterbury Road, also known as Route 169.
According to reports, 69-year-old Vivian Sanchez was traveling along the roadway in a Dodge Grand Caravan when her vehicle collided with a second vehicle, driven by 37-year-old Karin McAllister, at the intersection with Phinney Lane.
Sanchez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. Three people inside Sanchez's vehicle were injured and transported to Backus Hospital for treatment.
McAllister sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to Backus Hospital for treatment.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation by Troop D of the Connecticut State Police.
