Bridgeport, CT (August 6, 2019) – Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on August 4, Bridgeport Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Fairfield Avenue, between Melrose Avenue and Princeton Street.
According to reports, a pedestrian was crossing the roadway when they were struck by an oncoming car.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find the pedestrian sitting in the roadway. The pedestrian sustained injuries in the incident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the incident and cooperated with law enforcement.
At this time, the collision remains under investigation.
