Bridgeport, CT (July 31, 2019) – Just before 10:38 p.m. on July 30, the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Main Street.
According to reports, a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer was traveling down the roadway when the speeding driver lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed over Main Street, into the northbound lane, and crashed into Tony's Smoke Shop.
The impact of the collision caused extensive damage to the building.
Both the driver and the passenger sustained injuries in the collision and were transported to St. Vincent's Hospital.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
