Bridgeport, CT (June 7, 2019) – At approximately 7 p.m. on June 6, Bridgeport Police Department responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Fairview and Amsterdam Avenues.
According to police, two vehicles collided at the intersection for unspecified reasons. The driver in one vehicle was uninjured.
The second vehicle involved in the incident had three occupants and came close to striking a fire hydrant after the collision. A young child who was inside the vehicle was ejected and sustained serious injuries. The child was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
Another person inside the vehicle was trapped inside and had to be extricated by firefighters on site. The female victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
At this time, the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
