Two Teenage Girls Killed in Fiery Crash

Posted by Connecticut Accident News | Oct 17, 2019 | 0 Comments

Brooklyn, CT (October 13, 2019) - Firefighters were called to the Brooklyn/Canterbury town line at midnight after it had been reported that a pickup had burst into flames.

17-year-olds Brenna Ann Larson, Shawnna Wojnowski, and Ashley Adamo were driving in a Ford F-150 pickup on North Society Road when a curve in the road caught the driver off guard. She lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. The pickup then tumbled into a ditch where it engulfed in flames moments later.

Brenna Ann Larson and Shawnna Wojnowski were both pronounced dead at the scene. According to Miss Wojnowski's brothers, investigators believe that the girls were either unconscious or trapped in the car at the time of their deaths. Miss Wojnowski's brothers, Brandon Wojnowski and Dakota Cicarelli are both stunned and have spoken to reporters about their loss. Dakota Cicarelli said, "I never got the chance to tell her how much I love her and how much I care for her," regarding his sister. Brandon Wojnowski said, "I wish everything wasn't real, but it is I guess, and it hasn't sunk in yet and I don't know if it will sink in."

Both girls were students at Ellis Technical High School and their principal, Brian Mignault, announced that in-school grief counseling will be available to students who are affected by the loss.

The third passenger, Ashley Adamo, was seriously injured and immediately transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Rhode Island following the accident. State police say that she was wearing a seatbelt. It is unknown if the victims were wearing seatbelts during the accident, and it is still unclear who was driving during the incident.

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.
